Corpse Party (2021)

I spend around 10 hours playing this game (I got every ending and collected all of the collectables). It is $24.99 CAD on steam!

Corpse Party probably is one of my favourite horror games. I've never had a game truly mess with me like corpse party has. The visuals are really good and disturbing,even when it's just the pixel gameplay. The voice acting is also truly amazing, especially the screams. Every scream in this game felt so real. I've never understood the appeal behind psychological horror games until playing Corpse Party!

Chapter 1 is (in my opinion) the least disturbing of all the chapters, the most disturbing chapter to me was chapter 4. Throughout the whole game you're being watched and they make that very clear throughout every chapter. In each chapter there is either a chase scene(s) or a small cut scene of someone following behind you. I feel like knowing that your being followed and watched makes things so much more unnerving. Often times you have a party of 2 people but there are parts when you're playing as just one character and almost always you still aren't alone.

The lore for this game alone leaves me pretty disturbed on it's own honestly, even without all the disturbing visuals from the game. I've only been able to do one chapter a day because of how disturbed it leaves me each time I play. I had to sleep with the lights on the night I had started playing! (T-T) If you like dark and disturbing games, I highley recommend playing Corpse Party!
